PRESCRIPTION OF THE SYLLABUS

BIE evaluates the courses / syllabi of different states and certifies the equivalency of the courses with that of A.P state, for this one evaluation committee is constituted.

The syllabus in the language and non-language subjects of study of the Two year Intermediate Course is in existence normally for a period of 3 academic years. The existing syllabus is being implemented for the first year with effect from the academic year 1995-96 and for the second year with effect from 1996-97. Syllabus for the optional subjects is prepared in 1985 – 86. The 1^st year syllabus is modified and the books are being prepared by Telugu Academy which will be made available from 1999 – 2000 and the 2^nd year syllabus has to be modified.

PRESCRIPTION OF TEXT-BOOKS:

The text-books prescribed by the Board of Intermediate Education for the study of the students are developed by two ways. The detailed text-books under Part I English, Part III English Part II Telugu and Part III Telugu are edited by the concerned Subject Committees of the Board and they are published by the Board. These text books are distributed by the Telugu Academy, Hyderabad . The non-detailed and Drama text books in the language subjects published by the private publishers are prescribed by the Board of Intermediate Education by selection, and arrange for distribution.

The text-books under Part III Optional Subjects in Telugu Medium are prepared, printed and distributed by the Telugu Academy, Hyderabad.
